Filing fees have gone up
Classes in Basic Applications cost $350 each.
The TEAS Standard application and the reduced-fee TEAS Plus application, the two variants of the trademark application we have been using, will be unavailable going forward. Alternatively, Americans will need to fill out one base application form. The base application will have a $350 minimum application fee per class. The use of recognized identifications from the USPTO’s ID Manual and a description of goods and services that do not exceed 1,000 characters per class are two of the specific requirements that applicants must achieve to qualify for this low cost.
Could you describe your custom goods or services for $200 for each class?
This charge will be applied to applications that do not use the USPTO’s approved list to identify the goods and services but instead use free-form text. This remains valid regardless of whether the products or services are mentioned in the authorized documentation but are entered in an unstructured format. Also, irrespective of whether a class was on the USPTO’s authorized list, the fee will be applied to all applications for that class.
Expensive products and services – $200 for each class
This cost applies to every additional 1,000-character group that applications incorporate in their goods or services descriptions.
Spanish Protocol – 600 euros each lesson
There has been an increase of $100 to a $600 flat cost per class for all applications filed as extensions of protection of an international registration.

Class fees increased by $100 due to missing information
Applications that do not fulfill all basic application requirements when submitted will be charged this cost. To avoid this extra, it is vital to supply all necessary information when filing. There are nineteen potential scenarios in which this additional cost would materialize, such as:
issues such as: submitting an application without a signature; not providing the applicant’s home address; omitting to include translations or transliterations of foreign words; on use-based applications, not requiring specimens or first-use dates; misclassifying goods and services [instead of the usual $200 custom goods/services cost, flaws in identification may occasionally impose this fee]
For applications submitted in accordance with the Madrid Protocol, these fees will not be applicable.
Updated trademark filing system: Trademark Center
The USPTO’s Trademark Center, accessible at trademarkcenter.uspto.gov, will be used to draft and submit new applications. Expansions of protection outlined in the Madrid Protocol are exempt from this modification.
